I’m a big fan of brilliant advertising and when I see a brilliant ad I have to write or talk about it. If you’re South African or you have Internet access you might have seen Santam’s latest ad campaign featuring Ben Kingsley, from Hugo and Prince of Persia fame, as the brand’s Ambassador. The ad campaign ran across print and electronic media; at least as that’s what I know. What caught my attention was one of their t.v ads. I like how captivating their ads were and at same time got their message across. Like the advert that features Ben Kingsley standing at the bar talking to the viewer about banking, while a bartender is moving around doing his job in the background. Then at the end he informs you that while he was talking to you the bartender changed his uniform four times. See what I mean? That’s just beautiful advertising right there and that’s just one of the adverts. I wonder how they came up with this ad? What method did they use? How long were their brainstorming sessions? Or what books do the art director or the copywriter read? What ever method these guys used really works for them and I suggest they stick to that formula. King James you’ve done it again!!!!!
